6 years ago, I first led a coven of witches, I mean a group of writers through a workshop exploring poetry and the supernatural. This year, we’re doing it again. Dare you step into the realm of the unknown? I thought I heard your name whispered through the mist.
A 10 week online exploration of poetry and the supernatural
Buried in The Bones is 10 week exploration of poetry and the supernatural; coaxing out the words we often hold within. We’ll be exploring the unseen realms, liminality, folklore, place and magic through carefully selected poems, writing prompts and our own intuitive wisdom.
We'll think about re-wilding; and look to the Celtic teachings of nature as animism, as we foster a deeper relationship to the natural world, to see that we are not so separate.
Whether you’re a seasoned writer or brand new to the page, this course is all about you having the chance to connect to yourself, and the thoughts, feelings and memories that lie dormant. Through the lens of eco-poetry; we’ll read together, try our hand at writing, and have the opportunity to share in a supportive group too,
With an emphasis on re-wilding; we’ll look at poems that examine the domestication of women / non-binary people, and the reclamation of their fire. We’ll ask ourselves questions like “What stories am I longing to tell?” and “What sort of world are we dreaming possible?”
My aim is to plant the seeds, to give you a new lens in which to approach writing, and to help you draw connections between poetry and the natural world.
If you take this journey with me, I strongly encourage you to leave any preconceptions you may have had about magic or yourself at the door.

About me
Lyndsay is a poet, mystic and workshop facilitator, with an interest in the relationship between poetry and the natural world. Her work is informed by her practice in folk magic and revolves around the Celtic wheel of the year. Lyndsay’s approach is rooted in social change and activism, honouring the interconnectedness of people and place. Her previous poetry night ran for two years, she is now the host of Salt Water Podcast, discussing poetry, arts and culture. A seasoned performer; Lyndsay has graced the stage of many venues, theatres and festivals across The UK, opening for Joelle Taylor, Dominic Berry and Lowkey. Her work has been featured in Clarion Magazine and BBC Introducing. She is an experienced facilitator, having delivered projects for Coventry University, FACT Liverpool, Writing on The Wall and Birmingham Bullring. She is inspired by the things that make us human, and spends her days attempting to name the feelings that often leave us speechless.
If you like your poetry to feel like a punch to the gut, and forehead kiss simultaneously, she’s the one for you.

FAQs
I’m not a witch or spiritual, can I still come?
Absolutely! I am not teaching witchcraft, folk magic or any type of religion or spiritual practice on this course. We are simply exploring the concept of the mystical and animism through poetry and creative writing. If you are interested in these themes, then you are welcome to join us.
Is it just for women?
This course is for women & non-binary / gender-diverse people. Please note, this is a queer-led, trans friendly space & I myself am non-binary. The texts we explore reflect a wide range of identities and we approach all work and discussion from a socially-engaged lens.
Is there an age cap on this?
You have to be over 18 to join, there is no maximum age to join us.
Why are you charging? Shouldn’t access to poetry be free?
As a disabled artist, I am currently happy with the amount of work and value I have provided for free. This course is priced in reflection of the time commitment it takes to research, plan and deliver sessions, it also includes website and tech overheads as well as fees for guest facilitators, who I want to pay fairly.
Can you tell me more about the bursaries?
We have two bursary spaces available on the course. To be eligible, you must identify as one or more of the following: BIPOC, LGBTQ+, working class, neurodivergent or disabled.
To be considered, please drop an email to lyndsaywritespoems@gmail.com stating your name and confirming you are available for the dates of the course. You do not have to divulge any personal details. Two people will be chosen at random.
I did Season of The Witch last year, is it worth me doing it again?
We are absolutely building off of what we did last year in a beautiful way! Some content may feel familiar, others brand new! We so welcome your expertise and wisdom.
